This is my story

“Irina Balen-Garland was born in Zagreb, Croatia. She studied at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, Netherlands. In London, UK, she completed her postgraduate studies at Central St Martins and Montessori International early education. Irina lived in the USA for two years and traveled through 34 states in a camper. She has hiked in the Himalayan mountains and traveled through India, Nepal, and other countries in Asia and Africa.

She has had solo and group exhibitions and is a recipient of the Royal Award for Art in the Netherlands, which granted her honorary Dutch citizenship. She often collaborates with her friend, writer Sandra Holetic, and her mother, ceramic artist Bozena Stih-Balen.”
